The ONE Thing That Makes Contact Centre Agents Happy at Work

After spending time with 40 agents across a high-performing contact centre, I asked them one simple question: what are the three things that make the biggest difference to your happiness at work?

All three groups, independently, gave the same answer: Team.

Not performance coaching. Not incentives. Not career development.

Just the team. The friendships, the laughs, the feeling of being supported after a tough call.

As a team leader, the single most important thing you can do is create a team that people genuinely love being part of.

Give them space to build relationships, share experiences, and find common ground. You don't have to manufacture it, just make it safe, inclusive, and human.

Because when everything else feels overwhelming, it's the team that gets people out of bed and through the door.

If you're building team spirit and people love being in your team, you're doing a great job. Keep going.
